Malahi Ngotel
Palau is a very shy person, often being reserved in public and around people she doesn't know well. However, once she gets to know someone, she'll open up more and may even begin gossiping with them, though she always tends to be a bit nervous and flusters easily. As dance and music has played a very important part in traditional Palauan society, Malahi prides herself in her peoples' performances and will always invite her friends to watch them with her. Also due to traditional beliefs, Malahi respects people who are honest, loyal, and generous. She tends to avoid people she doesn't like instead of confronting them directly. Malahi believes in "island time;" events start when they start and people are more important than getting somewhere on time. Because of this, many people view her and the other island nations as lazy and lacking ambition, but it's really just being relaxed and not worrying about things that are out of their control. Palau is small and tight-knit, so Malahi prefers to know about her friends' affairs, even if they aren't native to her country. She takes pride in the preservation of her language, and will often accidentally slip in some Palauan words while speaking English. She only speaks Japanese with Japan, and refers to him as "Kiku-san."
